🌍Through this month-long initiative, our team covered over 2,500 kilometers—without using a single car—and spared more than 500 kg of CO₂. That’s a lot of cleaner air and quieter streets, just from the way we got to work.

📊Out of 4,304 teams and 14,791 participants registered nationwide, our results placed us pretty high: 209th in biking, 63rd in walking, and 55th in public transport. Within our own Einpark building, Mercurtec teams reached 2nd and 3rd place in walking and 3rd place in public transport. We were also honored for having the highest participation rate relative to our company size in the building.

🌱 To mark everyone’s efforts, the 12 participants of our winning teams were awarded something truly lasting: a growing tree in the Vlčia private nature reserve. These trees not only stand as a reminder of the power of small, everyday choices, but also contribute to protecting and expanding precious forest land in the Čergov hills of eastern Slovakia, near Veľká Javorina. It’s a gift that continues to grow—just like the impact of choosing greener ways to move.

🏅 Internally, we tracked our kilometers across the three categories and celebrated our top three in each—with well-earned chocolate and applause. Congratulations to our first-place winners: Juraj (cycling), Mira (walking), and Igor (public transport).

🌿While this was a friendly competition, it’s part of a bigger movement, and another way MERCURTEC supports a sustainable future. From reducing plastic waste in our production to cutting our gas and electricity consumption, we’re proud to take real steps—small and large—toward greener practices in the workplace.
