🧧 Traditions and Celebrations
Chinese New Year, based on the lunar calendar, kicks off this year on January 28 (New Year’s Eve) and wraps up with the Lantern Festival on February 12. During this time, families come together for feasts that include dumplings for wealth and fish for abundance, while streets glow with red lanterns, fireworks, and parades. And of course, “hongbao” (red envelopes) spread joy, luck, and prosperity to all!
🐍 The Year of the Wood Snake
Snakes in the Chinese Zodiac symbolize introspection, intuition, and adaptability. Those born in a Snake year – especially a Wood Snake year like 2025 – are known for their analytical minds and love of the finer things. But watch out: if you were born in the year of the Snake, your zodiac year, or “ben ming nian,” is thought to bring challenges, making lucky red clothing an extra-smart choice.
🔴 The Power of Red
In Chinese folklore, red is more than a color – it’s a shield against negativity! From red string bracelets to clothing (and yes, even underwear!), this bold color wards off bad luck, scares away the mythical beast Nian, and symbolizes joy, success, and a fresh start.
🤝 Gratitude and New Beginnings
At MERCURTEC, we’re grateful for our Chinese partners and the collaboration that makes our shared successes possible. As the Year of the Wood Snake unfolds, we wish everyone happiness, prosperity, and success.
